INTRODUCTION

Based on guidance from NICE and the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare’s Clinical Effectiveness Unit (FSRH) Dr Suneeta Kochhar describes the symptoms, diagnosis and management of the menopause. Key education points for general practice nurses include diagnostic tests, use of HRT and dealing with the contraceptive requirements of women at or around the menopause.
